In a dramatic turn of events within the Telugu Desam Party (TDP), internal dissent has erupted in the Undi Assembly constituency of West Godavari district. TDP leaders have raised a rebellion flag against local MLA Raghurama Krishnaraju, signaling deepening factional divides within the party.

The revelations came to light during a media conference held in the village of Velivarru, organized by TDP’s state general secretary Pothuri Venkateswararaju. He openly criticized the leadership of Raghurama Krishnaraju, who also serves as the Deputy Speaker, claiming that his governance has devolved into chaos. Venkateswararaju stated that the party’s grassroots workers and leaders are increasingly distancing themselves from the TDP due to Krishnaraju’s alleged mismanagement.

Venkateswararaju asserted that Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu had appointed him as the state general secretary with respect, but the situation in the Undi constituency has deteriorated under Krishnaraju’s rule. He accused the MLA of facilitating rampant corruption and exploitation within the region, asserting that the constituency has become a hub for illicit activities. “Raghurama Krishnaraju’s games will not continue, and we will rebel against this misrule,” he declared, underscoring the urgency of the situation.

The TDP leader further questioned the authority of Krishnaraju, asking, “Who gave you the power to demolish the homes of the poor and churches?” This statement reflects the growing frustration among party members regarding the MLA’s actions, which they believe are damaging the party’s reputation and alienating its supporters.

Venkateswararaju’s remarks indicate a potential schism within the TDP, as dissatisfaction with Krishnaraju’s leadership appears to be spreading. His assertion that attempts have been made on his life adds a layer of seriousness to the unfolding situation, suggesting that the internal conflicts have escalated beyond mere political disagreements.

The TDP has historically been a stronghold in the Undi constituency, which is seen as a bastion for the party. However, the current turmoil raises questions about its stability and future electoral prospects in the region. As factions within the party battle for influence, the implications for the party’s unity and its ability to effectively contest in upcoming elections remain uncertain.

This internal strife within the TDP not only highlights the challenges faced by the party at the local level but also reflects broader trends of discontent that may influence the political landscape in Andhra Pradesh. With tensions escalating, all eyes will be on how the TDP leadership addresses these issues and whether they can mend the rifts before they become irreparable.
