Hyderabad, India – In a surprising turn of events, All India Majlis-e-Ittehadul Muslimeen (AIMIM) president and Hyderabad MP Asaduddin Owaisi has made a bold suggestion, urging Telugu Desam Party (TDP) chief N. Chandrababu Naidu to quit politics and hand over the party reins to his son, Nara Lokesh.

Owaisi, known for his strong views on various political and social issues, has typically focused his efforts on the Hyderabad old city region. However, in a recent statement, he has ventured into the realm of Andhra Pradesh politics, a move that has generated considerable buzz among political pundits.

“Chandrababu Naidu should quit politics and hand over the TDP to his son, Lokesh,” Owaisi said, adding that the younger Nara is “more capable” of leading the party. This unexpected recommendation has raised eyebrows, as Owaisi has generally refrained from commenting on the affairs of political parties outside of his own stronghold.

The AIMIM chief’s statement comes at a time when the TDP is grappling with internal tensions and a challenging political landscape in Andhra Pradesh. With the Yuvajana Sramika Rythu Congress Party (YSRCP) firmly in power, the TDP has faced a series of setbacks, leading to speculations about the party’s future under Naidu’s leadership.

Owaisi’s intervention, though surprising, has sparked a heated debate within the political circles of Andhra Pradesh. Some have interpreted his remarks as a strategic move to weaken the TDP, while others view it as a genuine recommendation based on his assessment of the party’s current state.

“Owaisi’s suggestion is certainly unexpected, but it cannot be dismissed entirely,” said political analyst Rajesh Sharma. “He may be onto something, and Chandrababu Naidu would do well to seriously consider handing over the party reins to Lokesh, who could bring a fresh perspective and energy to the TDP’s revival efforts.”

As the political landscape in Andhra Pradesh continues to evolve, the AIMIM chief’s intervention has added an intriguing twist to the ongoing dynamics. Whether Naidu will heed Owaisi’s advice remains to be seen, but the political fraternity will undoubtedly be closely watching the developments in the days to come.
