Tadepalli, Andhra Pradesh:
Former Chief Minister and YSR Congress Party (YSRCP) chief Y. S. Jagan Mohan Reddy has strongly hinted at launching a new padayatra (foot march) before the upcoming state elections. Addressing youth leaders at the party headquarters in Tadepalli on July 1, Jagan outlined his strategy to rebuild political momentum and reconnect with the public at the grassroots level.

Jagan announced that he will first undertake district-wise tours across Andhra Pradesh, aimed at exposing what he called the failures and anti-people policies of the current TDP-led coalition government. Once these initial tours are completed, he plans to begin a full-scale padayatra, similar in scope and impact to his 2017–18 Praja Sankalpa Yatra, which played a key role in the party’s 2019 election victory.

Placing a strong emphasis on youth leadership, Jagan urged the younger generation within YSRCP to take an active role in the party’s comeback efforts. He called on them to organize at the local level, mobilize people, and use social media effectively to spread awareness, counter misinformation, and build digital support for the party.

Reflecting on the past, Jagan reminded the audience about the power of his previous padayatra, which covered thousands of kilometers and connected directly with lakhs of voters. He highlighted how he and his mother built the party from scratch despite tremendous political pressure, and stayed true to their values without compromising.

Jagan also took a sharp dig at the Telugu Desam Party (TDP), accusing it of betraying public trust. He criticized the party for allegedly poaching 23 MLAs from YSRCP after the 2014 elections. He urged his team to remain strong, stay connected with the people, and prepare for a hard-fought battle rooted in public service and accountability.
