Rajamahendravaram: YSR Congress Party leader and former MP Margani Bharat has criticized the coalition leaders for their lack of concern regarding the victims of the adulterated milk incident. He questioned why the coalition leaders have time to engage in theatrics but not to address the needs of those affected by the milk contamination.

On March 10, Bharat visited the hospital in Rajamahendravaram to meet with the victims. He described the behavior of the coalition leaders in Rajahmundry as “ridiculous.” Bharat pointed out that while leaders like Chandrababu Naidu, Pawan Kalyan, and Minister Satya Kumar have ample time for political theatrics, they seem unable to address the plight of the milk adulteration victims. He expressed concern that the situation is being painted as an accident, questioning why the samples from the victims have not been sent to the National Forensic Laboratory.

Bharat urged that this matter should be handed over to the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) to ensure that the truth comes to light. He emphasized that police investigations must be thorough, noting that only 20 families were affected despite 160 liters of milk being brought in. Questions remain about whether urea or formalin was mixed into the milk, or if any pesticides were added by those involved. These crucial details have yet to be clarified, and the conditions of the affected families are dire.

The former MP attributed these incidents to government negligence, highlighting that the previous government had introduced the YS Jagan Milk Procurement Act. He questioned why this act is not being implemented now. Bharat pointed out that even children are suffering from the aftermath of this incident, raising the question of how the government would react if similar events occurred within their own families.

Bharat also criticized the delays in receiving lab reports, suggesting that the government is playing a dramatic game while the victims suffer. He noted a significant increase in Heritage advertisements following the incident, suggesting that the situation is being exploited for commercial gain. “Since this government came to power, everything has been tainted. The affected families deserve a compensation of 2.5 million rupees,” he demanded.

The ongoing situation has raised alarms among the community, with many calling for immediate action and accountability from those in power. As the investigation continues, the focus remains on ensuring justice for the victims and preventing such incidents in the future. Bharat’s comments reflect a growing frustration among the public, who are keen to see effective measures taken to address food safety and public health concerns.
