Delta Plane Crashes, Overturns in Toronto; All 80 On Board Survive

A Delta flight crash-landed at Toronto Pearson International Airport on Monday, leaving the aircraft overturned on the snow-covered ground. All 76 passengers and four crew members survived, though 15 people—including a child—were hospitalized. Three suffered critical injuries: a child, a man in his 60s, and a woman in her 40s, while others had minor injuries, according to Peel Regional Paramedic Services.

The Minneapolis-originated Flight 4819 was evacuated following the accident, with Delta emphasizing their focus on supporting those impacted. The cause of the crash remains unclear, but strong 40 mph wind gusts and blowing snow were reported at the time of the incident.

Authorities, including the Transportation Safety Board of Canada, FAA, and NTSB, have launched an investigation. Toronto Pearson temporarily halted flights, resuming operations by 5 p.m. ET.

Delta CEO Ed Bastian and Toronto Mayor Olivia Chow expressed relief that all passengers were accounted for, thanking first responders for their swift action.
