Renowned actor Mohan Babu recently reflected on his remarkable 50-year journey in the film industry, expressing astonishment at his long-standing career. Speaking at the 34th annual celebration of Mohan Babu University, he shared that he had not anticipated such longevity in his acting profession. Recalling his debut film “Swargam-Narakham,” which was released on November 22, 1975, he noted that he initially planned to leave the industry after just two years.

Mohan Babu, who has featured in 560 films over five decades, emphasized the diversity of roles he has played, often portraying characters that were vastly different from one another. He attributed his success to the unwavering support of his parents, divine blessings, and the encouragement of directors and producers. “I am often amazed by how far I have come,” he said, urging students to consider their paths carefully.

During his speech, Mohan Babu also addressed the current generation of students, highlighting the stark differences between their upbringing and his own. He remarked on the prevalence of technology today, with many young people owning multiple mobile phones, a luxury he did not have in his youth. “When I was your age, we did not have computers or cell phones. Seeing you all with two phones each, purchased with your parents’ hard-earned money, astonishes me,” he said.

He urged the students to reflect on their responsibilities, particularly towards their parents, who often work tirelessly to provide for them. “Many parents send their children to school after ensuring they have had at least one meal, and that is something we should not take for granted,” he added. Mohan Babu pointed out that true gratitude towards parents cannot be measured in material terms, stating, “Apart from bowing at their feet, what can we do to repay their debts?”

In his concluding remarks, Mohan Babu encouraged the students to pursue the right path in life, stressing the importance of making thoughtful decisions that do not burden their parents. “You all know how to walk, what to do, and how to live. Think about what is good and what is bad as you move forward,” he advised.

This heartfelt address by Mohan Babu serves as a reminder of the values of gratitude and responsibility, urging the younger generation to appreciate their parents’ sacrifices while navigating their own journeys. As the film industry veteran celebrates his impressive career, he continues to inspire others to reflect on their lives and choices.
