In a fiery media conference held in Tadepalli, YSR Congress party leader TJR Sudhakar Babu made explosive claims against the Telugu Desam Party (TDP), labeling it a “Telugu Drugs Party.” His remarks came in light of calls for the removal of MP Putta Mahesh from his position, following allegations of drug involvement.

Sudhakar Babu did not hold back in his criticism, stating that it was shameful for TDP MP Mahesh to be associated with alcohol and drugs. He emphasized that individuals lacking moral character, such as Mahesh, should not represent the Lok Sabha. “Mahesh has no moral right to step into Parliament,” he asserted, condemning the actions of TDP leaders as detrimental to the state.

Highlighting the gravity of the situation, Sudhakar Babu pointed to the recent emergence of drug cases linked to MP Putta Mahesh Yadav, calling it disgraceful. He insisted that Mahesh lacks the qualifications necessary to serve in Parliament, demanding his immediate suspension from the party and removal from his MP position. “There is a connection between Putta and the drug network,” he alleged, referring to a former MLA from Rajasthan being invited to the so-called ‘drugs party’ as evidence.

Sudhakar Babu expressed his disbelief at the TDP leaders’ negligence, questioning how they could continue in power despite their mistakes. He accused Mahesh of leading many young lives astray and underscored the need for accountability. The MP is the son of Sudhakar Yadav, a former chairman of the Tirumala Tirupati Devasthanams (TTD), and concerns about the TDP’s integrity have intensified following recent scandals involving the party.

He took a swipe at party president N. Chandrababu Naidu, noting that despite the troubling videos surfacing about TTD’s current chairman, B. R. Naidu, no action has been taken. “What measures will Chandrababu implement regarding Putta Mahesh?” he questioned, emphasizing that Mahesh should not be allowed to serve in Parliament.

Sudhakar Babu also pointed to the alarming rise of drug trafficking in Guntur, Vijayawada, and Amaravati, accusing Chandrababu of being indifferent to the escalating crisis. He suggested that Naidu’s connections with Revanth Reddy and Rahul Gandhi could lead to attempts to dilute the seriousness of Mahesh’s case.

In a further critique of Naidu, he described the former Chief Minister as someone who has formed questionable alliances with both the BJP and Congress. Sudhakar Babu argued that such alliances raise doubts about Naidu’s credibility and questioned how the BJP and Jana Sena can trust a leader with such a track record.

As tensions escalate, the integrity of both the TDP and the legislative body is under scrutiny. Sudhakar Babu’s remarks have ignited a heated debate on the accountability of elected officials and the growing drug menace in the region. He concluded with a call for action, demanding that if Revanth Reddy is serious, he should take immediate steps against MP Mahesh and that the honesty of the Telangana police is now being tested. “It is disgraceful to turn the two states into drug havens,” he declared, urging for immediate reforms.
