YSR Congress Party State Coordinator Sajjala Ramakrishna Reddy praised Chief Minister Y.S. Jagan Mohan Reddy for his significant contributions to women’s welfare during a Women’s Day celebration held at the party’s central office in Tadepalli. He emphasized that in just five years, Jagan has introduced reforms that have transformed the landscape for women, declaring him a champion for their cause.
Speaking at the event, Sajjala highlighted the crucial role that the women’s wing of the party plays in advancing women’s issues within the community. He asserted that the party is prioritizing the empowerment of women across various affiliated sectors, underscoring the importance of active participation at the grassroots level. “We need to complete committees at the mandal and village levels. This will strengthen the women’s wing further, allowing us to fight effectively against any issues that arise locally,” he stated.
Sajjala urged women to actively engage in addressing problems in their communities and to remain vigilant in reporting issues via social media. He encouraged them to take initiative and lead by example, stating, “To grow as leaders, you must show initiative and move forward.” He criticized former Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu for failing to fulfill commitments made to women, asserting that promises made during his tenure were not honored.
He lauded Jagan’s administration for implementing numerous schemes focused on women’s welfare, which have contributed to improving their living standards. Sajjala expressed concern over the rampant abuse of alcohol in the state and called for organizing meetings to discuss the resultant harms. “We must raise awareness among everyone about these issues,” he added, emphasizing the need for collective action.
As the upcoming elections approach, Sajjala made a rallying call for women to play a pivotal role in leadership positions. He believes that their engagement and activism are crucial for driving change and ensuring that women’s voices are heard in the political arena. “Women must lead the way in the upcoming elections, taking on key roles that can shape our future,” he concluded.
This event not only celebrated women’s achievements but also served as a platform for encouraging active participation and leadership among women in the political landscape of Andhra Pradesh. The commitment shown by the YSR Congress Party under Jagan’s leadership reflects a broader trend towards recognizing and empowering women in governance and community affairs.
