In a candid interview, Telugu actor Samrat Reddy opened up about the tumultuous phases of his life, including his divorce, jail time, and battle with depression. Known for his performances in films like “Vinayakudu,” “Panchakshari,” “Ready,” “Premakavali,” and “Dhoosukeltha,” Samrat gained fame as an actor but suddenly disappeared from the silver screen. His participation in the second season of Telugu Bigg Boss brought him closer to television audiences, yet personal challenges soon overshadowed his career.
After marrying Harshitha, Samrat found himself in the midst of marital troubles that made headlines. Reflecting on his journey, he recounted the emotional turmoil he faced, stating, “At one point, I found myself sitting with a heroine at the wedding altar, only to have the marriage called off later. Such experiences bored me, and I decided to take a break.” His marriage to Harshitha turned sour shortly after they tied the knot, as she filed cases against him alleging domestic violence and dowry harassment. Samrat vehemently denied these accusations, calling them baseless and a deliberate attempt to tarnish his reputation.
“I was deeply hurt by the false allegations,” he revealed, adding that the situation was exacerbated by his father’s health crisis, who suffered a brain stroke during that tumultuous period. Samrat described a moment when his family was shattered, and he was even jailed for two days due to a theft incident at his home, which further impacted his career and mental health.
Struggling with depression, Samrat was initially reluctant when he received the offer to participate in Bigg Boss. However, he decided to join the show to clear his name and confront the allegations against him. “I had endured a lot of pain, and my life felt like it was falling apart,” he shared. The reality show turned out to be a turning point for him, helping him regain confidence and stability.
Despite his previous experiences, Samrat found love again after Bigg Boss when he met Anjana Srilikhita. “I was so taken with her at first sight that I proposed marriage,” he said, though her family was initially hesitant. Samrat went to great lengths to convince them, and in 2020, they married, welcoming a daughter in 2022. Reflecting on his relationships, he noted, “While my first marriage was arranged, my second is a love marriage. Since Likhita came into my life, I have been truly happy.”
Samrat’s story is a testament to resilience and the ability to overcome life’s challenges. As he navigates his personal and professional life, he remains optimistic about the future. His journey highlights not only the struggles of a public figure but also the importance of love, support, and self-acceptance in the face of adversity.
