Tadepalli: In a recent press conference, YSR Congress Party (YSRCP) MLA Tathiparti Chandrasekhar criticized the Governor’s speech, suggesting that it was a mere compilation of sensational media narratives. He expressed skepticism about whether the Governor had actually authored any original content, pointing out that the speech seemed to echo reports from platforms like Eenadu, Andhra Jyothi, and TV5.

Chandrasekhar elaborated that the Governor’s address was flooded with confusion, falsehoods, and baseless allegations, likening it to a press meet for a box-office flop movie claiming it was a commercial success. He condemned the current administration under Chandrababu Naidu, stating that the so-called visionary leadership had led to nothing but bizarre policies and setbacks for the state.

The MLA accused the government of being afraid of public scrutiny regarding its failures, claiming that the YSRCP was not granted opposition status due to fears that its shortcomings would be exposed in the assembly. He urged the Governor to intervene and ensure that the YSRCP’s right to oppose was recognized formally, emphasizing that they were prepared to engage in discussions if given the opportunity.

Chandrasekhar went on to ridicule the Governor’s remarks during the presentation of the third budget by the coalition government, suggesting that if there were any truths in his address, they were overshadowed by fabrications. According to him, the speech felt like a collection of the same old stories propagated by yellow journalism, devoid of any mention of genuine developmental initiatives or welfare schemes for the state.

He criticized the government for its borrowing practices, noting that in just twenty months, it had amassed a debt of ₹3.27 lakh crores, while claiming progress. He argued that the current administration’s governance, filled with empty promises and grandiose plans like aerospace and electronic cities, was misleading the public.

Chandrasekhar pointed out the stark contrast to the previous TDP government, which he claimed had successfully managed welfare schemes and development projects with fiscal responsibility. He lamented that the current regime’s focus on real estate ventures, particularly in Amaravati, has not yielded tangible benefits for the people.

The MLA expressed frustration over the lack of accountability from the Governor regarding the deteriorating law and order situation in the state. He asserted that the Governor’s speech failed to address pressing issues such as the removal of pension schemes and the absence of housing for the needy.

In conclusion, Chandrasekhar urged for a stronger voice for the opposition in the assembly, asserting that the YSRCP was committed to holding the government accountable. He called for the Governor to facilitate discussions on vital state issues, emphasizing that democracy requires a robust opposition to ensure justice and address the grievances of the six crore citizens of Andhra Pradesh.
