In a show of solidarity and resolve, Y.S. Jagan Mohan Reddy, the leader of the Yuvajana Sramika Rythu Congress Party (YSRCP) and former Chief Minister of Andhra Pradesh, urged his party members to stay courageous and engage in a legal battle against recent attacks on their homes. This call to action came during a meeting held at the YSRCP central office in Tadepalli, where local leaders from the Chunduru Mandal in the Vemuru constituency detailed the alarming incidents that had taken place.

Party leaders expressed their distress over an alleged midnight raid by Telugu Desam Party (TDP) supporters who forcibly broke into their homes, vandalized property, and made off with valuables including gold and cash. Notably, they accused Balakotireddy, a TDP-affiliated rowdy, of leading these assaults in the village of Kothanarikellapalli, claiming that this individual was frequently targeting YSRCP sympathizers with a group of armed thugs.

Vemuru’s YSRCP in-charge, Varikooti Ashok Babu, provided Jagan with specific accounts of the violence and intimidation faced by party members. The complaints indicated a worrying trend of targeted assaults, despite the presence of police in the area, leading to frustrations among the victims who felt unprotected and vulnerable. Families reported a constant state of fear, with some even expressing desperation by seeking permission from the district collector to end their lives due to the lack of safety.

In response to these grievances, Jagan reassured the party cadre that they should not live in fear. He emphasized the importance of standing firm against such attacks and declared that the party’s legal cell would provide necessary legal assistance to those affected. Jagan criticized the police for their failure to act appropriately, suggesting that their conduct was undermining public safety and enabling such violence.

The meeting saw the presence of several notable figures, including former ZPTC member Gade Shivaramireddy, Chunduru Mandal party president Raghurami Reddy, and other party leaders who voiced their concerns to Jagan. They highlighted the urgency for protective measures and the need for a more robust response from the authorities to ensure the safety of YSRCP supporters.

Jagan’s visit and the discussions that unfolded aimed to empower party members and bolster their spirits amidst the ongoing turmoil. He reiterated his commitment to ensuring justice and protection for his supporters, urging them to remain united and vigilant against the threats posed by rival political factions. The situation in the region continues to evolve, with many calling for immediate action to restore safety and order in their communities.
