In a recent statement, Rachamallu Shivaprasad Reddy, a spokesperson for the YSR Congress Party (YSRCP), accused Chief Minister Chandrababu Naidu of spreading falsehoods while invoking religious sentiments. Reddy claimed that Naidu is engaging in a conspiracy to malign the reputation of the current government while utilizing the name of God to further his agenda.
During a press conference, Reddy argued that Naidu’s administration had granted permission to the Bole Baba organization, questioning the integrity of the government’s actions. He pointed out that the controversy surrounding 82,000 kilograms of butter, allegedly linked to the Bole Baba organization, emerged during Naidu’s tenure, thereby implicating him directly in the matter.
Reddy expressed frustration over what he termed Naidu’s habitual fabrications, stating, “We are fighting against the web of lies spun by Chandrababu. If we do not confront him daily, his falsehoods will spread worldwide.” He emphasized the importance of safeguarding the sanctity of Tirumala and asserted that Naidu’s slanderous campaign was aimed at inciting opposition to Y.S. Jagan Mohan Reddy among Hindu devotees.
He categorically denied the allegations of animal fat being mixed with butter, which were first made by Naidu, and insisted that the issue should be investigated discreetly to reveal the truth before making public statements. Reddy highlighted that even during Supreme Court hearings, the judges’ remarks indicated a lack of substance in Naidu’s claims, asserting that the investigation into the allegations should be conducted by unbiased entities.
Furthermore, Reddy challenged Naidu on the credibility of the reports from the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) and the single-member commission, questioning how the commission could be formed post-CBI inquiry. He demanded clarity on how the orders for 82,000 kilograms of butter were placed if there were no irregularities, asserting that the reports were clear in stating that there was no animal fat involved.
Reddy also accused Naidu of lacking respect for the people’s sentiments and their faith, stating that the repercussions for his actions would be dire. He warned that the deity Venkateswara, whom Naidu claims to revere, would ensure justice for the alleged transgressions against public trust.
In a pointed critique, Reddy declared that Naidu and his son would not be able to hold any significant positions post-2029, emphasizing that there would be no good days ahead for them. He called out Naidu’s lack of genuine devotion to the deity and his failure to respect the emotions of the public, asserting that such actions would not go unpunished.
This exchange between the YSRCP and Naidu’s administration highlights the ongoing political tensions in Andhra Pradesh, as accusations of corruption and mismanagement continue to surface in the lead-up to future elections.
