Siddipet: Former minister and BRS leader Harish Rao has sharply criticized the Congress party, claiming that the state’s revenue has plummeted since their return to power. Speaking at an election rally for the municipal elections in Pragnapur, part of the Gajwel constituency, Harish Rao accused Congress of deceiving the public with false promises and pointed out the government’s inability to repair even the potholes on the roads.
Rao’s comments came as part of a broader campaign strategy to rally support for the BRS ahead of the upcoming municipal elections. He emphasized the failures of the Congress government and urged voters to remember the economic decline that occurred during their tenure. “The Congress government has tricked the people with its empty promises. Since they took over, Telangana’s income has drastically fallen,” he stated emphatically.
On the other hand, Minister Ponnam Prabhakar is also actively campaigning in Siddipet district, particularly in the municipal wards of Husnabad. He launched a counter-attack on the BRS, claiming that Harish Rao and other leaders are out of touch with the local populace. “Who is this person who does not even know the local face, coming here to speak?” Prabhakar asked, referring to Rao’s criticisms of the Congress party.
Ponnam Prabhakar defended his record, highlighting his past achievements as a Member of Parliament and reiterating his commitment to fight for the interests of Telangana. “If you elect me again, I will continue to fight for our state,” he promised, asserting that he has contributed significantly to the development of the region. He urged voters to focus on the progress of Husnabad and to engage in meaningful discussions about its future.
The political climate in Siddipet is heating up as both parties vie for the support of local residents. With the municipal elections approaching, candidates are increasingly targeting each other’s records and promises. Harish Rao insists that the BRS has a clear plan to advance the development of Husnabad beyond that of Siddipet and Warangal, while Ponnam Prabhakar seeks to establish his credibility as a leader deeply invested in the community.
As the election draws near, residents are poised to make critical decisions that will shape the future of their local governance. The discussions surrounding infrastructure, economic development, and accountability are set to dominate the campaign trail, as both Harish Rao and Ponnam Prabhakar continue to engage with voters and address their concerns.
