In a scathing critique of the current state of governance in Andhra Pradesh, YSR Congress Party senior leader and MLC Botsa Satyanarayana expressed deep concerns over the escalating violence and lawlessness under the ruling party. During a visit to the residence of former minister Jogi Ramesh, which was recently attacked by alleged TDP goons, Botsa highlighted the unprecedented culture of violence that has emerged in the political landscape.
Speaking to reporters after inspecting the site of the attack, Botsa condemned the actions of the TDP and questioned the role of the police in maintaining law and order. “What does it mean to throw petrol bombs at the residence of a former minister? I have witnessed such acts only during the Jai Andhra movement,” he stated, emphasizing that the police should be protecting citizens rather than escorting goons. He lamented the lack of action from law enforcement, saying that such collusion between police and criminals was unheard of in the last three decades.
Addressing the violence directly, Botsa stated, “This was not a spontaneous act but a well-organized attack carried out by individuals who came from various places armed with petrol bombs. What if something worse happens next? Chandrababu Naidu, what are your real intentions?” He also pointed out that the attack on Jogi Ramesh was a reflection of the moral decay in political conduct and urged Ramesh to remain calm and not retaliate, despite the severity of the incident.
Botsa further criticized the governance of Naidu, questioning whether there was any semblance of administration or peace in the state. “We are witnessing a scenario that resembles a lawless state. Are there any rules of law left in Andhra Pradesh? The political violence we are observing is deeply troubling and undermines democracy,” he remarked. He called for citizens to be vigilant against such acts of brutality and to question the legitimacy of a government that allows its leaders to operate with impunity.
In a pointed message to political opponents, Botsa remarked, “What does it matter to you, Pawan Kalyan, to speak about democracy when you remain silent on the atrocities happening to women and the general populace? You need to understand the essence of true dharma before you continue in politics.” His comments underscore the tension and blame being directed at opposition leaders for their perceived negligence in addressing the violence and political instability in the state.
Botsa concluded his statements by asserting the commitment of the YSR Congress Party to seek justice for the victims of violence and to challenge the government’s actions in court. He emphasized the need for the public to reflect on their voting choices, particularly when faced with a government known for its misconduct and empty promises. “This government lacks the vision to govern effectively. Are they merely diverting attention from real issues?” he questioned, highlighting the urgent need for accountability in Andhra Pradesh’s political system.
