Allegations of land encroachment have surfaced against Sundarapu Vijay Kumar, a Member of the Legislative Assembly (MLA) from the Jana Sena party, in Elamanchili, Anakapalli district. Local Dalits have accused the MLA of attempting to seize 42 acres of land valued at approximately 200 crores, which they claim is vital for their livelihood.

According to reports, the Dalit community from Panchadarl village in the Rambilli mandal has raised serious concerns over the MLA’s actions. They assert that the land in question was granted to them over 50 years ago and is crucial for their survival. The community members have stated that they possess the necessary documentation to prove their ownership of the land.

In a dramatic turn of events, the Dalits allege that local authorities and police have been intimidating them, warning them not to enter their own land. They have also reported that their protest tent, set up to voice their grievances, was forcibly removed by the police in the dead of night. This has heightened tensions in the area, with community members expressing their desperation and determination to protect their rights.

The Dalits conveyed their frustration, stating, “We are ready to die if our land is forcibly taken from us.” They have accused the coalition government of exacerbating land grabs since taking office, noting that no one dared to encroach on their land in the past 50 years. “Now, the eyes of the coalition leaders are fixed on our land,” they lamented, reflecting their anger and fear over the situation.

The allegations against MLA Vijay Kumar come amid growing concerns over land rights and the treatment of marginalized communities in the region. This incident highlights the ongoing struggles faced by the Dalit community, who are often caught in the crossfire of political power dynamics and economic interests.

As the community prepares to continue their fight for justice, there are calls for an investigation into the allegations against the MLA, with demands for accountability and transparency in land dealings. The situation remains tense, and local leaders are urging the authorities to address the grievances of the Dalit community promptly to prevent further escalation.

The unfolding drama around this land dispute raises critical questions about the safeguarding of land rights, the responsibilities of elected officials, and the protection of vulnerable communities in India. As the story develops, it will be crucial to monitor the responses from both the government and the Jana Sena party regarding these serious allegations.
