In a recent statement, former minister Anil Kumar Yadav of the YSR Congress Party (YSRCP) voiced serious concerns about the current state of governance in Andhra Pradesh, specifically targeting the opposition party, Telugu Desam Party (TDP) and its leader, N. Chandrababu Naidu. Yadav’s comments came during a media briefing held at the residence of former minister Jogi Ramesh in Ibrahimpatnam, NTR district, where he expressed discontent over the alleged violent actions taken by TDP supporters against Ramesh’s family.
The political climate in the state has been tense, particularly following an incident where TDP goons reportedly attacked Jogi Ramesh’s home with petrol bombs and lethal weapons. This incident raised alarm bells, as Ramesh’s family members, including his father, wife, and son, were present in the house during the attack. Yadav emphasized the gravity of the situation, asking, “If any harm comes to the women inside, who will take responsibility?”
Yadav also criticized Naidu for what he described as “demonic governance” and accused him of engaging in diversionary politics. He referenced recent false propaganda regarding the famous Tirupati laddu, claiming that Naidu has a penchant for spreading misinformation without remorse. “It’s become Naidu’s strategy to file cases against those who question him and orchestrate attacks on them,” Yadav stated, highlighting the growing concern over political violence in the state.
Furthermore, Yadav expressed his disapproval over the alleged armed assaults on Jogi Ramesh’s residence, asserting that the TDP had mobilized hundreds of goons to carry out these violent acts. The YSRCP leader challenged Naidu’s leadership, questioning why Pawan Kalyan, another prominent political figure, remains silent on these issues. Yadav stated, “If you are genuinely against the faction politics, why are you not speaking up?”
As tensions escalate, Yadav warned that if such actions continue, a rebellion is inevitable. He pointed out that the TDP’s threats have become increasingly brazen, contrasting this with the relatively peaceful governance under Chief Minister Jagan Mohan Reddy over the past five years. “You are provoking us, and our party workers are emboldened to stand up against you,” he declared, reiterating that every government has an expiry date, hinting that TDP’s time may soon be up.
Yadav’s remarks come at a time when political violence and repression in Andhra Pradesh are under scrutiny. He concluded his address by asserting that the YSR Congress Party would not stand idly by in the face of intimidation and violence, making it clear that the party is prepared to respond to any threats against its members. As the political landscape continues to shift, it remains to be seen how this confrontation will unfold in the coming months.
