KARIMNAGAR: Union Minister Bandi Sanjay has made sensational remarks regarding the upcoming municipal elections in Telangana, claiming that the Congress government plans to increase house tax immediately after the elections. During a campaign event in Kisan Nagar, Karimnagar, Bandi questioned why voters should support Congress, given that the party has failed to implement six key guarantees promised to the public.
Addressing a gathering, Bandi Sanjay highlighted the lack of financial support from the Congress for municipalities and the Karimnagar Corporation over the past two years. He argued that voting for the Bharat Rashtra Samithi (BRS) would lead to disastrous consequences, akin to “falling into a drainage system.” He challenged the BRS’s ability to fund its projects, pointing out that the party is not in power at the Centre or the state level.
In his remarks, Bandi Sanjay criticized the BRS government for alleged corruption and appropriation of resources over the past decade. He claimed that if BRS happens to win the elections, they would misappropriate central funds for their own commissions. He emphasized that all the development witnessed in Karimnagar has been funded by the Central Government, and not by the BRS.
Bandi Sanjay further stated that if he were to secure funds, BRS leaders would shamelessly take credit for his efforts, saying he has brought coconut water to them, a metaphor for providing resources. He pledged to take responsibility for bringing additional funding if the BJP is granted the mayoral seat in the Karimnagar Corporation.
In a provocative statement, Bandi Sanjay openly challenged Gangula Kamalakar, suggesting he should “pack his bags and leave Karimnagar” if he cannot deliver results. This bold assertion is indicative of the high stakes involved in the municipal elections and the fierce competition between the political parties.
As the municipal elections approach, the political landscape in Karimnagar is heating up. With both the BJP and BRS vying for control, voters are left to navigate through a maze of promises and allegations. The BJP is positioning itself as the party capable of real change, while the BRS is defending its track record against the barrage of criticisms.
The upcoming elections are set to serve as a litmus test for both parties, as they seek to gain the confidence of the electorate. With house tax increases looming and promises of development on the line, residents of Karimnagar are gearing up for what promises to be a contentious electoral battle.
