In a dramatic display against what they term “anarchy rule” in Andhra Pradesh, members of the Yuvajana Sramika Rythu Congress Party (YSRCP) staged a protest in front of Parliament on Tuesday morning. The MPs, adorned with flex banners, chanted slogans demanding the intervention of the President of India to restore peace and order in the state, suggesting that presidential rule may be necessary if the situation does not improve.

The unrest in Andhra Pradesh has escalated, with reports indicating that attacks on opposition leaders’ residences have become a regular occurrence. The YSRCP has called upon the central government to take immediate action to safeguard law and order, citing a troubling trend of violence and political retaliation since the coalition government took office. The party alleges that under the guise of the “Red Book Constitution,” retaliatory politics have taken root, targeting YSRCP leaders with fabricated cases, arrests, and even instances of murder.

In the wake of these tensions, former ministers Ambati Rambabu and Jogi Ramesh have reportedly faced violent attacks on their homes, which the YSRCP has condemned as indicative of a broader “jungle raj” in the state. The party is committed to addressing these issues through lawful and non-violent means and has already brought the situation to the attention of the Union Home Secretary. Plans are underway for YSRCP officials to meet with Home Minister Amit Shah to further discuss these alarming developments.

Since the coalition government assumed power, the YSRCP claims that numerous attacks have been directed at their leaders’ residences, including those of prominent figures such as Vellampalli Srinivasa Rao, Kodali Nani, and others. This wave of violence has raised serious concerns about the safety of political figures in the state and the overall stability of governance.

As the situation unfolds, the YSRCP has reiterated its commitment to fighting against these injustices in a peaceful manner, urging the central government to intervene and implement presidential rule if necessary to restore order. The party’s leadership emphasizes that the ongoing violence against opposition members cannot continue unchecked and must be addressed promptly to ensure the safety and rights of all citizens in Andhra Pradesh.

The party’s protest in Delhi is just one of many efforts to raise awareness about the deteriorating situation in the state. As they prepare for further discussions with national leaders, the YSRCP is determined to advocate for the protection of their party members and uphold democratic principles in the face of what they describe as escalating political violence.
