Kakinada: In a sharp critique of Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu and Minister Nara Lokesh, Mudragada Padmanabham, a leader of the Kapu movement and member of the YSR Congress Party’s PAC, has accused them of consistently targeting the Kapu community. In an open letter released on Monday, Padmanabham expressed his concerns regarding the recent political climate in the state and the attack on former minister Ambati Rambabu.

Padmanabham stated that the governance under Chandrababu Naidu has become increasingly oppressive, describing it as a “demonic rule” that is leading to the humiliation of various community leaders, including Rambabu, Vidudala Rajini, and Jogi Ramesh. He questioned the fairness of such treatment, particularly in light of the CBI’s report which cleared the allegations against the Tirupati laddu, which Naidu had previously claimed was tainted. This, he argued, demonstrated the extent of the government’s deceit and the damage it has inflicted on its own party’s credibility.

The letter further elaborated on the historical context of the Kapu community’s grievances, noting that Naidu had previously promised reservations for the community but failed to deliver, leaving them feeling betrayed. Padmanabham recounted how Naidu’s administration has continuously targeted the Kapus, stating, “You have always been hostile towards the Kapu community. In the past, you humiliated my family, and now you have done the same to Ambati’s family.” He urged the leaders to recognize the growing discontent among the Kapus, who have now turned against Naidu.

Padmanabham’s comments come against a backdrop of increasing unrest within the Kapu community, who feel marginalized and misled by the ruling party. He pointed out that despite previous support extended to Naidu and Lokesh, the Kapus are now filled with anger and frustration towards their leadership. The letter is seen as a call to action for the government to address these issues and reconsider its approach towards the Kapu community.

In a particularly provocative statement, Padmanabham suggested that the government should consider relocating the Kapu community to another state, highlighting the extent of their disenfranchisement. This remark underscores the growing tensions and dissatisfaction within the community, which has historically been a significant support base for the ruling party.

As political tensions rise in Andhra Pradesh, the ramifications of Padmanabham’s accusations may resonate throughout the state, influencing public sentiment and impacting the ruling party’s standing ahead of future elections. The response from Chandrababu Naidu and Nara Lokesh remains to be seen as they navigate these challenging dynamics within their governance and party relationships.
