Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s political influence continues to resonate across India, as recent findings from the ‘Mood of the Nation’ survey conducted by India Today-C voter reveal significant insights regarding the upcoming elections. The survey indicates that if Lok Sabha elections were to take place immediately, the National Democratic Alliance (NDA) led by Modi would secure 352 seats, while the opposition coalition, led by Congress, is projected to win 182 seats. This data suggests a clear pathway for the NDA’s continued dominance in the central government in future elections.

According to the survey, the NDA is poised for a substantial victory, with the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) anticipated to garner 41% of the vote share, translating to approximately 287 seats. In contrast, the Congress party is expected to receive around 20% of the votes, resulting in about 80 seats, while other parties are projected to collect around 39% of the total votes. These figures have invigorated party leaders and workers within the saffron camp, fueling enthusiasm for the NDA’s prospects.

Interestingly, 55% of respondents in the survey expressed their belief that Modi is the best candidate for Prime Minister. Furthermore, 57% of those surveyed reported satisfaction with Modi’s performance, highlighting a three percent increase in voting intentions compared to six months ago. Meanwhile, Rahul Gandhi managed to attract support from 27% of the voters, a figure that indicates the ongoing challenges for the Congress party in rallying a broader base.

The current survey results show an increase in projected seats for the NDA compared to the August 2025 survey, which estimated 324 seats for the NDA and 208 for the opposition coalition, known as the India Bloc. The upward trend in the NDA’s seat count further solidifies their position ahead of the 2024 Lok Sabha elections, where they previously secured 293 seats against the India Bloc’s 234 seats.

These survey results have sparked discussions across political circles, with the India Bloc urging caution regarding the implications of the findings. They emphasize that the true test will occur during the elections. Amid the current political wave, the NDA’s success in the Delhi and Bihar assembly elections in 2025 has showcased their stronghold, setting the stage for further victories, including in Maharashtra’s municipal elections in 2026.

As the NDA gears up for upcoming assembly elections in Bengal, Tamil Nadu, and Kerala, Modi is focused on ensuring that the saffron flag flies high in these states. With a strategy aimed at consolidating power across regions, the NDA appears determined to maintain its momentum and expand its influence in the coming months.
