Tadepalli: YSR Congress Party leader and former minister Vellampalli Srinivas has accused the coalition government of spreading blatant lies during discussions with the state governor. He expressed his concerns about the dishonesty of prominent political figures like Chandrababu Naidu, Pawan Kalyan, and Lokesh, claiming they are living a life built on falsehoods. Srinivas’s comments came on January 26, during a press briefing at the YSR Congress Party headquarters in Tadepalli, where he condemned the government’s actions on Republic Day.
Srinivas specifically criticized Chandrababu Naidu for allegedly deceiving the public with false promises regarding employment. He pointed out that Naidu had introduced a so-called “Super Six” scheme as a means to manipulate voters. Furthermore, he highlighted the empty promises made on January 1 regarding a job calendar, which he claims misled unemployed individuals. He accused Naidu of boasting about creating 23 lakh jobs, while, in reality, no student had received a proper acknowledgment from his mother on the occasion of Mother’s Day.
The former minister lamented that not a single farmer is content with the current government, stating that Naidu has betrayed the agrarian community. He criticized the government for deceiving farmers and women under various schemes, such as the free gas cylinder initiative. Srinivas also noted that under the Jagan Cheyutha scheme, beneficiaries were provided with ₹18,000, contrasting this with Naidu’s alleged false claims about the P4 scheme, which he asserted was poorly implemented.
He further accused the government of reducing pensions for five lakh individuals, leaving the elderly and widows in distress. Srinivas asserted that apart from traveling in special planes and helicopters, government officials have failed to deliver any substantial solutions to the public’s problems. He emphasized that no group within the coalition government appears to be satisfied with the current state of affairs.
In his critique, Srinivas pointed to the destruction of government schools under Minister Lokesh’s leadership, claiming that the educational system has suffered greatly. He accused Naidu of betraying the farmers of Amaravati by failing to fulfill promises and harassing them instead. He cited the tragic case of a farmer named Ramarao from Mandadam, whose death he attributed to government negligence.
Srinivas also claimed that the real estate business has exploited Amaravati, resulting in injustice for farmers who provided land. He expressed outrage over the silence of the Home Minister in the face of atrocities against women, stating that the minister’s only role seems to involve criticizing Jagan rather than addressing pressing issues. He took aim at Speaker Ayyanna Patrudu, labeling his statements as shameless, and questioned the speaker’s silence when 23 MLAs from their party were taken away between 2014 and 2019.
