In a spirited exchange of political barbs, Kethireddy Venkataramireddy, a former MLA from Dharmavaram, has challenged TDP leader JC Prabhakar Reddy from Tadipatri. During a recent media interaction, Kethireddy questioned Prabhakar Reddy’s courage, asking if he had the guts to speak with party chief N. Chandrababu Naidu about bringing significant projects such as the AIIMS hospital and a steel factory to Kadapa.
Expressing his frustration, Kethireddy remarked, “If you genuinely care about the people, shouldn’t you confront Chandrababu for the injustice he has done to Rayalaseema?” His comments come in light of Prabhakar Reddy’s criticisms directed at Kethireddy’s family, urging him to focus on development instead.
In his statements, Kethireddy accused Chandrababu Naidu of betraying the Rayalaseema region, detailing how the Chief Minister obstructed the establishment of a High Court in Kurnool and prevented an AIIMS facility from being set up in Anantapur. He also claimed that efforts to establish a steel factory in Kadapa were thwarted by Naidu’s administration.
“If JC Prabhakar Reddy truly has the courage and bravery, can he negotiate with Chandrababu to bring these projects to fruition?” Kethireddy challenged. He criticized TDP ministers and MLAs from Rayalaseema for their silence on critical issues affecting the region, questioning their commitment to the welfare of their constituents.
Kethireddy’s passionate remarks included a call for TDP leaders to exhibit true valor and stand against the injustices meted out to Rayalaseema. “Everyone knows what JC Prabhakar Reddy’s life is like in Tadipatri. Rather than making baseless allegations against me, why don’t you show us development?” he added.
He further referenced a recent assembly debate led by Chief Minister Revanth Reddy regarding the Rayalaseema Lift Irrigation project, suggesting that TDP leaders should engage with Revanth if they are capable. “The spirit of Rayalaseema’s politicians has dwindled,” he lamented, indicating that they were failing to advocate for the region’s needs.
Kethireddy concluded his remarks by pointing out that crucial political figures, like Diwakar Reddy, who once actively responded to such issues, seem to be absent from the current discourse. His comments reflect a growing frustration among local leaders regarding the perceived neglect of Rayalaseema’s development needs.
This exchange highlights the ongoing political tensions within the TDP and raises questions about the party’s commitment to addressing the challenges faced by the Rayalaseema region. As the political landscape continues to evolve, the voices of local leaders like Kethireddy will likely play a significant role in shaping the future of the area.
