In a moving session at the Legislative Council, MLC Kavitha expressed her emotions, shedding tears as she announced what she referred to as her final attendance in the assembly. Speaking passionately on various issues, she highlighted the struggles she faced over the past eight years while serving the public.

Kavitha lamented that her efforts for the people have been obstructed, alleging widespread corruption from the statue of Ambedkar to Amar Jyoti. She pointed out the ongoing discrimination against activists and those who question authority, emphasizing that the BJP, driven by a vendetta against Chief Minister K. Chandrashekar Rao, had orchestrated her imprisonment. Despite her battles against the Enforcement Directorate (ED) and Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI), she felt let down by her own party, the Bharat Rashtra Samithi (BRS), which failed to support her during these trying times.

During her poignant speech, Kavitha revealed that media outlets serving as mouthpieces for the party had never offered her support. Whenever she raised questions or concerns, she faced retaliation, ultimately leading to her expulsion from the party. “I have fought against corruption that stains the reputation of KCR,” she stated, expressing her dismay over not being asked for an explanation before her suspension. She concluded her address by expressing relief at distancing herself from what she termed a morally bankrupt BRS.

As the session progressed, Kavitha made a heartfelt plea to the council chairman, Gutta Sukender Reddy, to accept her resignation. However, the chairman responded with caution, indicating that he could understand the gravity of the situation but advised her to reconsider her resignation, noting that decisions made in emotional turmoil might not be accepted.

The assembly session witnessed a mix of emotions, as Kavitha’s departure marks a significant moment in Telangana politics. Her passionate outcry and the circumstances surrounding her resignation have ignited discussions on the current political climate and the challenges faced by lawmakers in the state. As she prepares to step away from her role, the implications of her departure resonate deeply within the party and beyond.

Kavitha’s emotional address not only illustrates her personal struggles but also shines a light on broader issues of political integrity and accountability. As the atmosphere in the assembly shifted, her heartfelt words left an indelible mark on the proceedings, prompting both her supporters and critics to reflect on the political dynamics at play. The future of her political career remains uncertain, but her legacy as a passionate advocate for the people of Telangana is firmly established.
