The Andhra Pradesh High Court has given permission for the display of Pawan Kalyan’s photographs in government offices. On Wednesday, the court dismissed a Public Interest Litigation (PIL) that had challenged the practice.
The petitioner argued that showing Kalyan’s images could create bias in government functions and hurt administrative neutrality. However, the court ruled that there was no merit in the case, allowing the photos to remain.
Supporters of Pawan Kalyan, who is also the deputy chief minister and president of the Jana Sena Party, welcomed the decision. They said his photos in offices reflect his commitment to public service and accountability.
Critics, however, warned that displaying pictures of political leaders in government spaces might blur the line between party and state, possibly influencing officials.
The ruling comes as Andhra Pradesh prepares for upcoming elections. Analysts believe this decision could boost Kalyan’s image as a key political leader, while also setting a precedent for similar cases in the future.
