In an unexpected announcement, it has been confirmed that Prabhas’s film ‘Rajasaab’ will soon be available for streaming on OTT platforms. This movie, which was released in theaters last month as a Sankranti special, unfortunately did not perform well, disappointing many fans who had high hopes for its success.

‘Rajasaab’ was anticipated to be a major box office hit given Prabhas’s stardom, but it failed to garner the desired response from audiences, not only faltering in terms of critical reviews but also in box office collections. Consequently, the film is set to make its streaming debut in less than a month after its theatrical release. An official announcement regarding the streaming date has been made, confirming that it will be available on Hotstar starting February 6, which is next Friday.

Directed by Maruthi, ‘Rajasaab’ is a commercial film that delves into the horror fantasy genre. It features an ensemble cast including Nidhi Agarwal, Malavika Mohanan, and Riddhi Kumar as the leading ladies, alongside veteran actors Sanjay Dutt and Zarina Wahab in pivotal roles. Despite the star-studded cast and intriguing premise, the movie did not resonate well with viewers, likely due to a convoluted storyline that left many confused.

The film revolves around the character of Raja, played by Prabhas, who is the grandson of a former zamindar named Gangadevi, portrayed by Zarina Wahab. Gangadevi leads a simple life but suffers from memory loss due to her age. However, she never forgets her husband Kanakaraju, played by Sanjay Dutt. In her dreams, she urges her grandson to bring back her grandfather, leading to a series of events that see Kanakaraju guiding Raja to the royal palace in Narsapur. The film’s plot thickens as Raja, also known as Rajasaab, confronts Kanakaraju, unveiling the mysteries of his past.

The streaming version of ‘Rajasaab’ will be available in Telugu, Tamil, Kannada, and Malayalam, while the Hindi version may take a bit longer to be released. The film’s transition to OTT marks a significant moment for both the filmmakers and fans, as it allows audiences who missed it in theaters a chance to experience the story from the comfort of their homes.

As the release date approaches, fans are eager to see how the film will be received on digital platforms. While the initial theatrical run may not have met expectations, the hope is that ‘Rajasaab’ will find a second life through streaming, appealing to a wider audience and perhaps redeeming itself in the eyes of viewers who were unable to see it on the big screen.
