In a dramatic turn of events in Rajahmundry, tensions between political factions have escalated following allegations against the Telugu Desam Party (TDP). Umesh, the son-in-law of former minister and YSR Congress Party leader Ambati Rambabu, has raised serious questions regarding the lack of legal action against TDP goons who allegedly attacked Rambabu’s office and residence. Umesh was speaking to the media after visiting Rambabu, who is currently in judicial custody at the Central Jail in Rajahmundry.

During the visit, Umesh expressed concern over the violent incidents that took place two days prior, where TDP supporters allegedly disrupted Rambabu’s visit to the Venkateswara Swamy temple. He claimed that TDP goons not only assaulted Rambabu but also threatened him with dire consequences, including a warning from Union Minister Peddireddi Ramachandra Reddy about showing him a “movie” within 24 hours. Umesh, along with YSRCP youth wing president and former MLA Jakkampudi Raja, voiced their outrage over the attacks, insisting that they have evidence to support their claims.

Umesh pointedly questioned Chief Minister Nara Chandrababu Naidu about why no cases have been filed against the TDP members involved in the assaults. He recounted a terrifying encounter with TDP MLA Galla Madhavi and her husband, alleging that they engaged in violent behavior and used abusive language during their visit to his home. The accusations highlight the increasing animosity between the rival political parties, as Umesh demanded accountability from the ruling party.

Jakkampudi Raja echoed Umesh’s sentiments, criticizing TDP leaders for their seeming impunity and aggressive tactics against opposition members. He remarked that TDP’s approach reflects a troubling trend of retaliatory politics where attacks on opposition figures are followed by counter-allegations against them. Raja urged Naidu to open his eyes to the ongoing political climate, which he described as toxic and detrimental to democratic values.

The political atmosphere was further charged with accusations of diversion tactics employed by TDP leaders, particularly concerning the political fallout from the alleged mixing of different animal fats in temple offerings. This controversy has seen TDP leaders like Chandrababu Naidu and Lokesh making statements that Raja claims are intended to distract from their own missteps.

Raja also criticized the recent violent incidents as part of a broader pattern of politically motivated attacks aimed at discrediting the YSRCP. He asserted that the public is attentive to these actions and will not tolerate such political maneuvering much longer. He called for an end to the cycle of violence and retribution, emphasizing the need for political leaders to act responsibly.

As the situation continues to unfold, the YSRCP is calling for justice and accountability, while the TDP faces increasing scrutiny over its actions. The outcome of these tensions could significantly impact political dynamics in the region as both parties navigate this tumultuous period.
