Telangana Minister Konda Surekha’s Controversial Remarks Create Stir
Hyderabad: Telangana Minister Konda Surekha has stirred up a controversy with her recent remarks. In a public speech at the inaugural function of a new building constructed by the Arabindo Pharma Foundation at the Government Girls’ Junior College in Warangal, the minister made some startling comments.
Surekha stated that files often come to her office, and ministers typically take money to clear those files. However, she asserted that she will not engage in such practices, and instead, she asks companies to focus on social service. “I have told them that I don’t need any new money. I have asked them to focus on developing the school,” the minister said.
Surekha’s remarks have now sparked a heated debate in Telangana’s political landscape. While some have accused the minister of “distorting” her statements, Surekha has stood her ground, asserting that her words in Warangal were the absolute truth.
“I stand by the remarks I made in Warangal. The ministers in the previous government know whether they took money for clearing files or not. Some are trying to distort my statements and circulate small clips to create a rift among our cabinet ministers. But I will not tolerate any false propaganda against the ministers who are working hard,” Surekha said in a strong rebuttal.
The minister further challenged the opposition leaders to come forward and discuss the issues related to the previous government’s administration. “If the BRS (Bharat Rashtra Samithi) leaders are ready for a discussion on the previous government’s rule, let them come forward. I won’t spare anyone who tries to spread false propaganda against me,” Surekha asserted, throwing a gauntlet to her political rivals.
Surekha’s comments have ignited a political storm, with both supporters and critics weighing in on the debate. As the controversy continues to unfold, the minister’s stance and the underlying issues are likely to remain at the center of Telangana’s political discourse.
