In a recent outcry over alleged misconduct, YSR Congress Party’s MLC Varudu Kalyani has called for the suspension of Janasena MLA Arava Sridhar, following serious accusations of abuse against a woman. Kalyani emphasized the need for immediate action from the government, stating, “The Railway Koduru MLA Sridhar must be suspended from the party without delay. There is a growing concern for women’s safety, as many coalition MLAs seem to behave like predators, disregarding the lives of women.” Her remarks come in response to claims that Sridhar has destroyed a woman’s life and instilled fear in her through threats of violence.
Highlighting the broader issues of women’s safety in the region, Kalyani pointed out that there appears to be no accountability for those in power who engage in misconduct. “There have been no legal actions taken against the 15 TDP workers who allegedly committed sexual assault in Rapthadu, nor against Kiran Royal, a Janasena leader, who is accused of ruining a woman’s life,” she stated.
