Vijayawada: Former minister Perni Nani has strongly condemned the recent attacks on YSR Congress Party (YSRCP) members, attributing them to the Telugu Desam Party (TDP), which he claims lacks the political strength to confront their leader, Y.S. Jagan Mohan Reddy, directly. The condemnation comes in light of two significant incidents: an attack on the residence of Ambati Rambabu on Saturday, followed by another assault on the home of Jogi Ramesh on Sunday.
Perni Nani expressed grave concern over the state of law and order in Andhra Pradesh, stating that the region is currently under a reign of chaos. He highlighted that the intelligence chief is reportedly undermining lower-level personnel, suggesting that there are directives from higher authorities that prevent these officials from intervening in the TDP-led attacks. This alarming assertion points to a systemic failure within the state’s security apparatus.
According to Ambati, the ongoing violence is not merely a series of isolated incidents but a concerted effort by the TDP to intimidate and target those who question their actions. He emphasized that the police, rather than preventing these disturbances, seem to be complicit, allowing the chaos to unfold without intervention. Perni Nani went so far as to call for the imposition of President’s Rule in Andhra Pradesh, warning that the current situation could endanger the lives of countless individuals.
The former minister’s remarks come amidst rising tensions between the YSRCP and TDP, which have historically been rival factions in the state’s political landscape. Nani’s statements reflect a growing frustration within the YSRCP ranks, as party members feel increasingly vulnerable to attacks that they believe are orchestrated by their political opponents.
In light of these events, Nani has urged the central government to deploy additional security forces to Andhra Pradesh, stressing the urgent need for intervention to restore order. He believes that without immediate action, the safety of many citizens could be at risk, as the political climate continues to deteriorate.
As the situation evolves, it remains to be seen how state authorities will respond to these allegations and whether any measures will be taken to address the concerns raised by Perni Nani and other YSRCP leaders. The calls for President’s Rule highlight the gravity of the political unrest in the region and the potential for further escalation if the violence continues unchecked.
