In a recent press conference held in Hyderabad, Chief Minister Revanth Reddy sharply criticized the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) for its lack of financial support to the state over the past twelve years. He questioned the party’s credibility, asking, “How can we trust a party that has not contributed a single rupee to the state in over a decade when they now promise to bring in funds?” Reddy emphasized that the BJP, despite being in power at the center, has failed to deliver any benefits to Telangana.
Revanth Reddy directed his remarks at Union Ministers Kishan Reddy and Bandi Sanjay, challenging them to provide evidence of any schemes under which they secured additional funds for Telangana. He highlighted that the Bharat Rashtra Samithi (BRS), which has been in governance for ten years, is being unjustly asked to seek votes again despite their experience in addressing the state’s issues. Reddy urged the urban populace to support their government, which he claimed is dedicated to the welfare and development of the people.
As the elections for 116 municipalities and seven corporations approach, Reddy called for a thorough evaluation of the performances of the BJP, BRS, and Congress governments before casting votes. He encouraged voters to consider the past and future while making their decisions, underscoring the importance of a well-informed electorate.
During the press briefing, which included advisors and party leaders, Revanth Reddy reiterated the BJP’s failure to allocate any project for Telangana since the 2014 elections. He recalled promises made by Prime Minister Modi during the Palamuru meeting regarding national status for the Rangareddy-Palamuru project, which have yet to materialize. He criticized the BJP for not addressing the state’s needs and for relying on promises that lack substance.
Reddy expressed frustration over the BJP’s tactics, such as promoting projects for neighboring states while neglecting Telangana. He pointed out that the BJP leaders seem to prioritize their own interests over the state’s development, stating that the party is using Telangana’s issues as a bargaining chip for political gain. He accused BJP leaders of undermining the dignity of Telangana by failing to advocate for its rightful projects and resources.
In contrast, Reddy highlighted the accomplishments of the BRS government, including timely salary disbursements for employees, enhanced healthcare coverage, and significant improvements in public transport for women. He asserted that the BRS has successfully implemented various welfare schemes, including debt relief for farmers and housing initiatives for the underprivileged.
Reddy further emphasized the government’s commitment to education and skill development, referencing the establishment of universities and schools aimed at empowering the youth. He called upon the electorate to recognize the tangible benefits brought by the BRS government and to make an informed choice that would continue this trajectory of progress.
As the political landscape heats up ahead of the municipal elections, Reddy’s administration seeks to solidify its position by showcasing its achievements while challenging the credibility of its opponents. The ongoing electoral battle is set to be a crucial moment for Telangana, with the BRS aiming to maintain its governance amidst rising competition from the BJP and Congress.
