Renowned actress Raveena Tandon recently shared her admiration for the blockbuster film “Dhurandhar,” which is currently making waves on both the box office and streaming platforms. The movie has garnered millions of views, solidifying its status as a major hit. In a candid conversation during a podcast episode of “Saree Zoom,” Tandon revealed that she reached out to actress Yami Gautam to apologize for a previous misunderstanding.
Tandon disclosed that after watching “Dhurandhar,” she felt compelled to call Gautam, saying, “I’m sorry, I spoke about your husband (director Aditya Dhar) being a fan of mine.” She mentioned that she asked Gautam to relay this to her husband, emphasizing the importance of their collaborative efforts in cinema. Tandon praised Dhar for successfully reviving elements that were missing from their films, noting that the audience’s satisfaction has increased with the release of hit films such as “Pushpa,” “KGF,” and “Dhurandhar.”
Reflecting on the evolution of actors, Tandon stated that contemporary heroes now appear more authentic and heroic than ever before. She reminisced about a time when the film’s lead, Ranveer Singh, visited her set at just ten years old while she was shooting a song. “Look how much he has grown! He performed exceptionally well in the film,” she remarked, also praising fellow actors Sanjay Dutt and Akshay Khanna for their impressive performances. Tandon didn’t forget to acknowledge Sara Arjun, Rakesh Bedi, and Gaurav for their remarkable contributions to the film.
“Dhurandhar,” directed by Aditya Dhar, hit theaters on December 5 of last year and features a stellar cast including Ranveer Singh, Sanjay Dutt, Akshay Khanna, R. Madhavan, Arjun Rampal, Sara Arjun, and Rakesh Bedi. The film has achieved a staggering box office collection of over ₹1300 crores, further establishing its place in cinematic history. The success of “Dhurandhar” has led to excitement for its sequel, “Dhurandhar 2,” which is set to release on March 19.
As the film industry continues to evolve, Tandon’s insights and reflections on her peers highlight a growing trend in Indian cinema, where storytelling and character development are increasingly resonating with audiences. With sequels gaining popularity, it raises the question of whether this trend will dominate the Tollywood landscape moving forward.
