The much-anticipated film ‘The Rajasaab’ has hit theaters this Sankranti season, but it has not lived up to the high expectations set for it. Despite being directed by Maruthi and produced by Vishwaprasad under the People Media Factory banner with a hefty budget, the movie has reportedly left significant losses at the box office. Although the film’s concept was promising, the decision to cast three heroines and the absence of a nostalgic old-age appearance for lead actor Prabhas have been cited as major drawbacks.

Fans were vocal about their desires for changes in the movie’s second half, leading to the removal of certain scenes and the addition of others. Unfortunately, by the time these adjustments were made, the damage to the film’s financial performance had already been done. With a production budget estimated at around ₹450 crore, ‘The Rajasaab’ has only managed to gross approximately ₹250 crore at the box office, resulting in a staggering loss for the production house.

People Media Factory had pinned considerable hopes on ‘The Rajasaab,’ especially after facing setbacks with several previous projects. The expectation was that this film would bring a turnaround, but instead, it has plunged the producer into deeper trouble. In light of these developments, there are reports that Prabhas has stepped up to assist the beleaguered producer. It is not uncommon for actors to come to the aid of producers facing significant losses after a film underperforms, and it appears that Prabhas is following this trend.

Industry insiders suggest that Prabhas has expressed his willingness to collaborate on another film with People Media Factory in the future. He has reportedly reassured producer Vishwaprasad of his support, promising that he will return to work with them once his current slate of films is completed. There are indications that Prabhas has advised the team to find a solid script and a competent director for their next project.

Additionally, during this time, Prabhas has facilitated the distribution rights for his upcoming film ‘Spirit’ to ensure a smoother collaboration between People Media Factory and Maitri Movies. This gesture further underscores his commitment to helping the production house recover from the financial blow dealt by ‘The Rajasaab.’ Rumors suggest that Prabhas did not take his full remuneration for ‘The Rajasaab,’ opting instead to receive only a portion as an advance, leaving discussions on the remaining payment post-release unresolved.

As the film industry grapples with the realities of box office performance and financial viability, Prabhas’s proactive approach may not only assist People Media Factory in mitigating their losses but also strengthen his ties with the production company for future endeavors. With his reputation and star power, he could very well play a key role in navigating the challenges faced by the industry as it seeks to recover from the setbacks of recent releases.
