New Talents Shine on Telugu Screen

Every year, new actresses shine on the Telugu screen, and 2023 is no exception. Despite the influx of new talent, the Telugu film industry continues to provide a platform for all aspiring actresses. This year, several fresh faces are set to make their mark in Tollywood, and we take a closer look at some of these promising newcomers.

For many actresses, making their debut alongside a pan-Indian star like Prabhas can be considered a lucky break. This fortunate opportunity has been awarded to Imanvī Ismāīl, who will star alongside Prabhas in the upcoming period action film titled ‘Fauji’, directed by Hanu Raghavapudi. Following the success of the blockbuster ‘Sita Ramam’, this film is set in the 1940s, blending themes of patriotism, love, and duty, and features notable actors such as Mithun Chakraborthy, Anupam Kher, Jayaprada, and Bhanuchandar. Sharing the screen with such legendary actors in her first film is undoubtedly a significant career milestone for Imanvī. The film, produced by Naveen Erneni and Y. Ravi Shankar, is scheduled for release this Dasara.

Another promising newcomer, Tripti Dimri, has gained attention for her role in the blockbuster ‘Animal’, starring Ranbir Kapoor. Tripti’s performance as Joya received a warm response from the audience, leading to speculation about her Tollywood debut. She will make her entry into the Telugu film industry alongside Prabhas in the film ‘Spirit’, directed by Sandeep Reddy Vanga. With the film already in production, ‘Spirit’ is set to release on March 5 next year in multiple languages, including Telugu, Tamil, Hindi, Malayalam, and Kannada. In this film, Tripti plays a doctor alongside Prabhas, who portrays a police officer, adding a unique twist to his character.

Aishwarya Arjun, daughter of action king Arjun Sarja, is also making her entry into Tollywood with the multilingual film ‘Seetha Payanam’, which is set to release on the 14th of this month. Directed and produced by her father, this film marks Aishwarya’s first direct Telugu film. The film features a talented cast, including Upendra’s son Niranjan in the lead role, along with notable actors like Sathyaraj and Prakash Raj.

Saatvik Veeravalli will join the industry with the film ‘Aakasamlo Oka Taara’. In this film, she plays a girl from a remote village striving to fulfill her dreams. The film stars Dulquer Salman as the hero, with Shruti Haasan in a significant role. The production is nearly complete, with an anticipated release this summer.

Rasha Thadani, daughter of Bollywood star Raveena Tandon, has also secured a role in the upcoming film ‘Srinivasa Mangapuram’, directed by Ajay Bhupathi. This intense love story features Jayakrishna Gattamaneni in the lead role, while Rasha plays the female lead. The film’s first look poster has recently been released, and production is currently underway.

Ekta Rathod is set to make her debut in Tollywood with the political thriller ‘Legacy’, directed by Saikiran Reddy, featuring Vishwak Sen as the lead. The film’s production has already commenced, promising an intriguing narrative centered around personal politics.

Also making her mark is Vina Rao, who is introduced through an untitled project directed by V. Y. S. Chowdary. Following a year and a half of training in acting, Vina is ready to take on her role as the heroine in this film, which is still under wraps regarding its filming and release details.

Lastly, Malavika Mohanan made her entry into Tollywood with the film ‘The Rajasab’, showcasing her talent in an action sequence alongside Prabhas. While her initial entry was delayed, she has finally made her mark in the industry, which is excited to welcome these new actresses who promise to bring fresh energy and talent to Telugu cinema.
