Chandrahass, the son of television actor Prabhakar and a rising star in the film industry, recently expressed his emotional journey surrounding the release of his latest movie, “Barabar Premista,” which hit theaters on February 6. During a special screening with the film’s unit, Chandrahass was overwhelmed with emotion when discussing his experience of watching the film.
Chandrahass shared his feelings with the media, stating, “I have no words. A couple of months ago, I watched the movie without music. I was unable to cry because I hadn’t seen the final copy. Now, watching it in the theater is such a wonderful experience. In the last ten minutes, I found myself in tears.” His emotional revelation struck a chord with those present, as the audience applauded as the movie reached its climax.
However, the young actor admitted to having fears regarding the movie’s reception due to controversies surrounding its promotion. He said, “I was worried that people might not come to see my movie because of some other song-related controversy. I was very anxious about how it would affect my film.” The reference was to a previous incident where Chandrahass faced significant trolling after performing a song at the pre-release event that included vulgar lyrics, leading to public outcry and criticism.
This backlash raised concerns within the film unit about the potential negative impact on the movie’s success. Critics questioned whether an actor of his stature should resort to using explicit language in public performances for promotional purposes, suggesting that it was a desperate measure. The trolling he faced put a shadow over the film’s release, causing worry among the cast and crew.
Despite the challenges, “Barabar Premista” features promising talent, with Miss India finalist Meghna Mukherjee playing the lead role alongside Arjun Mahi as the antagonist. Directed by Sampath Rudra and produced by Gedha Chandu, AVR, and Gayatri Chinni under the presentation of Kakarla Satyanarayana, the film aims to deliver an engaging cinematic experience.
As audiences flock to theaters, it remains to be seen how the film will perform amidst the mixed reviews and controversies. Chandrahass’s emotional acknowledgment of his fears reflects the pressures young actors face in the industry today. The success of “Barabar Premista” will not only impact his career but also set a precedent for how controversies can shape the reception of films in a highly competitive market.
