Former Chief Minister Y.S. Jagan Mohan Reddy, the leader of the Yuvajana Sramika Rythu Congress Party (YSRCP), celebrated the party’s 15th anniversary on March 12, marking the beginning of its 16th year with a strong statement about its future. During the celebrations held at the party’s main office in Tadepalli, Jagan unveiled the party flag, symbolizing the spirit and unity of its supporters.

Addressing a gathering of party leaders and workers, Jagan expressed his confidence in the YSRCP, stating, “The party will be such that its supporters will raise their collars with pride.” He highlighted the significant impact the party has had on national politics since its inception in 2011, reflecting on the promise made in the Nallakaluva region that led to the establishment of the YSRCP. “That single promise changed the trajectory of our state,” he noted, emphasizing the party’s commitment to values and reliability.

Jagan took the opportunity to thank the party’s supporters, saying, “This party belongs to millions of people. From the beginning, we have trusted the people and God. I will always remain committed to values and credibility. Thanks from my heart to all those who love and support the YSRCP.” He also praised the party’s grassroots connection and the role it plays in empowering its members.

Reflecting on the party’s journey, Jagan recalled the challenges faced by the Congress party due to successive defeats and how the YSRCP emerged as a beacon of hope for the people. He drew parallels between the party’s rise and the transformative leadership of his father, Y.S. Rajasekhara Reddy, who served as Chief Minister and passed away in a tragic helicopter crash in 2009. Jagan recalled the sorrow following his father’s death and the subsequent promise he made to undertake a journey of consolation for the families affected by the tragedy.

In 2010, Jagan began his ‘Odarpu Yatra’ (Consolation Tour) to meet the bereaved families, a journey that solidified his commitment to the people. However, he faced opposition from the Congress leadership, prompting him to resign from the party along with his mother, Vijayamma. This pivotal moment led to the formation of the YSRCP on March 11, 2011, with the aim of realizing his father’s vision for the state.

As he unveiled the party flag at Y.S. Rajasekhara Reddy’s memorial, he underscored the significance of the YSRCP’s establishment as a tribute to his father’s legacy. The anniversary celebrations not only marked a milestone for the party but also served as a reminder of the enduring bond between the YSRCP and its supporters. With a clear vision for the future and a commitment to addressing the needs of the people, Jagan reaffirmed his dedication to continue the work initiated by his father, aiming for comprehensive development and welfare in Andhra Pradesh.

The YSRCP’s journey over the past fifteen years has been marked by resilience and determination, positioning it as a significant player in the political landscape of Andhra Pradesh. As the party steps into its sixteenth year, Jagan’s message resonates with the core values that have defined the YSRCP and its mission to serve the people.
