In a scathing critique of former chief minister N. Chandrababu Naidu, YSR Congress Party leader and former minister Ambati Rambabu has accused him of being a “pure opportunist” who would go to any lengths for political power. Speaking to the media in Guntur on Thursday, Rambabu’s comments came in light of a recent Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) report that cleared the air regarding allegations surrounding the Tirumala Mahaprasadam.
Rambabu emphasized that the report revealed Naidu’s claims about the sacred Tirumala laddus being tainted with animal fat were baseless and simply a smear campaign. “Chandrababu has spread false propaganda regarding the prasadam. He alleged that animal fat was mixed with the ghee used in the laddus, which has now been debunked by the CBI report,” he stated. The former minister expressed his frustration over what he termed as “malicious propaganda” aimed at tarnishing the reputation of the prasadam.
With allegations flying back and forth, he reiterated that while they are prepared to face any legal challenges, they will not stand idly by as false narratives are spread against them. “If you file cases against us, we will confront them. However, this defamation must stop,” Rambabu asserted, defending the integrity of the prasadam and the temple authorities involved.
Rambabu further addressed Naidu’s political maneuvers, questioning the ethics of using Lord Venkateswara’s name as a political tool. “Can you really use the deity as a shield for your political agendas? The sins committed during your regime are now being projected onto us. Will Lord Venkateswara forgive you for this?” he challenged, highlighting the seriousness of the allegations and the implications they carry.
In his statement, he also took a jab at Deputy Chief Minister Pawan Kalyan, suggesting that he is not fit for politics and lacks the wisdom to acknowledge his mistakes. Rambabu urged Kalyan to seek forgiveness at Tirumala for his errors, indicating that a humble admission of wrongdoing could pave the way for redemption in the eyes of the public and the divine.
The ongoing political tussle reflects the intense rivalry between the YSR Congress Party and the Telugu Desam Party, underscoring the lengths to which political figures will go to defend their legacies and counter opposing narratives. As the CBI report continues to circulate, it remains to be seen how these developments will affect the political landscape in Andhra Pradesh.
As the situation unfolds, the public is left to ponder the implications of such accusations and the role of faith in the often tumultuous world of politics. The dialogue surrounding the sacred prasadam and its associated issues is likely to continue as both parties vie for public support in the lead-up to future elections.
