Chennai: In Tamil Nadu, the political landscape is rapidly evolving as the DMK and AIADMK alliances finalize their lists of affiliated parties. Recently, three prominent individuals have responded to a call from Vijay, the leader of TVK, indicating their readiness to collaborate in forming a mega alliance. Reports suggest that these leaders are actively engaged in discussions aimed at consolidating their efforts, although the DMK’s official confirmation of the mega alliance is still pending.
As the political environment heats up, clarity has emerged regarding the parties expected to join forces within the DMK and the AIADMK-BJP alliance. Vijay has previously made a commitment to share power with anyone who aligns with him under the banner of coalition governance. However, so far, there has been little attention from potential allies towards this offer, leading Vijay to prepare for the upcoming elections independently.
In a significant development, indications have surfaced that Ramdas, the founder of the PMK, is aligning himself with Vijay to bolster his position, while Sasikala, the close aide of the late Chief Minister J. Jayalalithaa, is also reportedly preparing to support him. Following Anbumani’s entry into the AIADMK-BJP coalition, Ramdas has recognized that opportunities within the DMK are dwindling and is initiating discussions to officially back Vijay.
Simultaneously, Sasikala, who recently announced the formation of her political party, has reportedly responded positively to Ramdas’s outreach. Her clandestine meeting with Ramdas in Thailapur on Tuesday has drawn significant attention, highlighting the potential strategic alliance that could shift political allegiances within the AIADMK cadre, particularly against rival leaders like Palaniswami and TTV Dhinakaran.
As discussions gain momentum, there are signs that Vijay is working to attract key voter bases, including the Vanniyar and Mukulathor communities, to strengthen his political stance. Talks are reportedly underway to consolidate these voter banks in favor of Vijay, as he seeks to position himself as a formidable contender in the upcoming elections.
Additionally, Krishna Swamy, a leader of the Pudhiya Thamizhagam party, known for representing marginalized social groups in southern Tamil Nadu, is also reportedly preparing to lend his support to Vijay. This alliance could potentially enhance Vijay’s appeal among underrepresented communities in the region.
Should Vijay’s plans materialize and his strategies prove successful, it is noteworthy that leaders from Ramdas’s and Sasikala’s camps have expressed optimism about the formation of a mega alliance led by Vijay. As political maneuvers unfold, the coming weeks will be critical in determining the new power dynamics in Tamil Nadu’s political sphere.
