In a scathing attack, Yuvajana Sramika Rythu Congress Party (YSRCP) president and former Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister Y. S. Jagan Mohan Reddy has accused his party’s former general secretary and ex-Rajya Sabha member V. Vijay Sai Reddy of selling out to Telugu Desam Party (TDP) president and current Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu.

Speaking at a public event on Thursday, Jagan Mohan Reddy alleged that Vijay Sai Reddy, who was once a trusted lieutenant, had betrayed the YSRCP and its ideology by aligning with the rival TDP. Reddy’s scathing remarks come amid growing speculation of a rift within the YSRCP leadership.

“Vijay Sai Reddy has sold out to Chandrababu Naidu and the TDP. He has compromised the principles and vision of our party for his own personal gains,” Jagan Mohan Reddy told the gathered crowd. “This is a betrayal of the people’s trust, and we will not tolerate such actions from those who claim to be our own.”

The YSRCP chief further alleged that Vijay Sai Reddy had been in constant communication with Chandrababu Naidu and had been involved in negotiating a deal that would benefit the TDP leader. “Vijay Sai Reddy has been working behind the scenes to undermine our party’s efforts and has been feeding information to Chandrababu Naidu,” Jagan Mohan Reddy claimed.

The allegations come at a time when the YSRCP and TDP are locked in a bitter political battle, with both parties vying for the support of the state’s electorate. Jagan Mohan Reddy’s scathing attack on Vijay Sai Reddy is seen as an attempt to rally his party’s supporters and differentiate the YSRCP from the perceived corruption and opportunism of the TDP.

Despite Jagan Mohan Reddy’s accusations, Vijay Sai Reddy has not yet responded to the allegations. The former YSRCP general secretary has maintained a low profile in recent months, fueling speculation about his political future. However, the YSRCP’s internal turmoil is sure to be closely watched by political observers as the state prepares for the upcoming elections.
