Ongoing Crackdown on Former MLA Vallabhaneni Vamsi: Another Case Registered
Vijayawada: The coalition government in Andhra Pradesh continues its relentless pursuit against former MLA Vallabhaneni Vamsi. The latest development sees the police registering another case against Vamsi, this time over alleged mining irregularities in Gannavaaram.
The police filed the new case based on a complaint lodged by the Assistant Director (Mines) regarding the illegal mining activities in Gannavaaram. The 58-page complaint has now resulted in the registration of Crime No. 142/2025 at the Gannavaaram Police Station, further tightening the noose around Vamsi.
This comes despite the fact that Vamsi has already been granted bail in five other cases. However, the coalition government appears to be relentlessly pursuing him with what the opposition alleges are “false cases,” preventing him from obtaining bail.
The case related to the attack on the Telugu Desam Party (TDP) office in Gannavaaram is set for a crucial court verdict on the bail plea today. Amidst this, the police in Nuziveedu have also filed a PT warrant against Vamsi, adding to his woes.
The government’s persistent efforts to keep Vamsi behind bars have resulted in him spending 90 days in the Vijayawada jail as a remand prisoner. The opposition has condemned the government’s actions, accusing it of using “vendetta politics” against the former MLA.
With the latest case and the ongoing legal battles, the tussle between the coalition government and Vallabhaneni Vamsi shows no signs of abating, keeping the political drama alive in the state.
