Guntur: Former minister and YSR Congress Party leader Karumuri Nageswara Rao has expressed strong criticism regarding the deteriorating law and order situation in Andhra Pradesh. During a visit to console the family of Ambati, he highlighted recent attacks on YSRCP members as evidence of the ongoing chaos in the state. His comments came on Monday, February 16, amidst rising tensions surrounding the political climate.

Nageswara Rao condemned the assault on Ambati Rambabu’s residence and office, labeling it as a manifestation of lawlessness and anarchy. He remarked that Ambati had raised questions about the deliberate misinformation being propagated by the coalition government, particularly concerning the temple of Lord Venkateswara, where Ambati prayed for better judgment for the coalition leaders.

According to Nageswara Rao, the attack on Ambati’s vehicle was premeditated, involving sticks and stones, and he criticized the chairman of the temple trust, Vandana Devi, for making inappropriate comments. He asserted that the absence of law and order in the state was alarming, stating that the attacks were executed according to a well-laid plan. “You are the ones who spread venomous propaganda about Laddus, and now you are the ones who resort to violence,” he said, addressing the ruling party’s leaders.

He urged the administration to re-evaluate its governance, emphasizing that this is not a feudal state. Nageswara Rao insisted that as the opposition, they have the right to question the government’s actions. He challenged the ruling party to reflect on their narratives regarding debt issues during Chief Minister Jagan Mohan Reddy’s tenure, as well as their criticisms of the Land Titling Act. “Good governance can only be achieved with a robust opposition; otherwise, it is impossible,” he argued.

The former minister also warned that if the current administration continues its path, they will face severe backlash from the public, drawing parallels to the devastating floods in Diviseema. He called for introspection, stating that Rambabu does not speak beyond his own jurisdiction, and questioned why Chandrababu Naidu did not address issues concerning the welfare of farmers and students.

In a pointed critique, Nageswara Rao accused ruling party MLAs of engaging in chaos and corruption, stating they are misleading the public. He expressed concern over the coalition’s attempts to showcase their governance by bringing in figures like Bill Gates while neglecting the pressing issues faced by the common people.

He further claimed that Ambati Rambabu was physically assaulted at the police station, and lamented that those who perpetrated the violence were not held accountable, while the victims were the ones imprisoned. “We have never witnessed such governance,” he stated, cautioning that if the current trajectory continues, it would unify all communities against the ruling party.
