In a recent statement, former MLA and YSR Congress Party leader Kethireddy Venkatarami Reddy accused the state government of wrongfully arresting Jogi Ramesh and Jogi Ram under false charges. Speaking to the media after visiting Jogi Ramesh in the hospital on Tuesday, Kethireddy expressed his concerns regarding the political climate in the state, asserting that the current coalition government has been targeting opposition figures with fabricated cases.

Kethireddy emphasized that Jogi Ramesh had been imprisoned for 83 days simply for highlighting the government’s mistakes. He criticized the administration of Chief Minister Chandrababu Naidu, claiming that it has been creating undue hardships for many individuals by filing baseless charges. “Even family members visiting Jogi Ramesh in the hospital have been implicated in cases,” he remarked, calling attention to the deteriorating law and order situation in the state.

He continued to highlight discrepancies in the government’s approach to crime, stating that while serious offenders such as murderers remain unprosecuted, innocent individuals are being incarcerated for trivial matters. “Those who commit heinous acts are not being charged, while innocent people face false allegations,” he lamented. Kethireddy warned that sending people to jail unlawfully only fuels the determination of those in opposition.

Challenging Chandrababu Naidu directly, Kethireddy pointed out the rampant issue of counterfeit liquor in the Dharmavaram area, claiming that 70% of the liquor available there is adulterated. He accused Naidu of being complicit, asserting that the production of such liquor originates from his district. “You promised to eliminate belt shops, yet there are now four operating in the village,” he said, expressing his discontent over the situation.

Referencing a recent incident in Kadapa district where two individuals lost their lives due to poisoned liquor, Kethireddy demanded accountability from Naidu regarding the safety of the public. He also criticized the selective prosecution of individuals, questioning the motives behind various legal actions taken against opposition leaders like himself.

Kethireddy underscored the importance of legal integrity, stating, “The law should apply equally to everyone.” He challenged officials to reconsider their actions, warning that the misuse of authority for political gain will ultimately backfire. He pointed out the double standards in the administration, citing instances where individuals with ties to Naidu have escaped scrutiny.

In closing, Kethireddy expressed his determination to fight against the injustices faced by his party members and constituents, pledging to challenge the government legally on issues of counterfeit liquor and other grievances. “We will not let those who have wronged us go unchallenged,” he declared, urging citizens to demand accountability from their leaders and to stand firm against political oppression.
