Tirupati: Former TTD Chairman and YSRCP leader Bhumana Karunakara Reddy has accused Chief Minister Chandrababu Naidu of resorting to self-preservation tactics, claiming that he is intimidating certain religious leaders to write letters on his behalf. Speaking to the media today, February 10, from Tirupati, Bhumana expressed his concerns over the misleading propaganda being spread by Naidu regarding the SIT report on the Tirumala laddu issue.

Bhumana alleged that prominent political figures such as B.R. Naidu, Muddaada, and Ravichandra have coerced the Big Jeeyar Swami into writing letters as part of Naidu’s agenda. He emphasized that the SIT has clearly stated that there is no involvement of political leaders in the laddu matter, casting doubt on the Chief Minister’s narrative.

“Some swamis are being intimidated by Chandrababu to write these letters. What does he hope to achieve by scaring the spiritual leaders?” Bhumana questioned, underlining the distress that Naidu’s political tactics are causing among spiritual figures. He further criticized Naidu for using minor political strategies that are tarnishing the image of spiritual leaders.

The former TTD Chairman pointed out that some swamis seem to require more privileges than devotion, indicating a troubling trend in the relationship between politics and spirituality. He condemned the yellow media’s attacks based on reports from central investigative agencies, suggesting that such actions are politically motivated.

Bhumana called for accountability, urging the media and the public to scrutinize what Chandrababu has actually done for the Hindu community. He remarked that Naidu’s governance, dubbed as “Red Book” governance, appears to have shifted its focus toward the Big Jeeyar Swami, indicating a strategic pivot to counteract political opposition from Y.S. Jagan.

In a passionate outburst, Bhumana accused Naidu of orchestrating such conspiracies out of fear of facing Jagan politically. He urged the public to remain vigilant against the manipulation of religious sentiments for political gain, emphasizing the need for integrity in both the political and spiritual spheres.

As the political landscape continues to evolve in Andhra Pradesh, the implications of Bhumana’s allegations could have significant repercussions for the ruling party. The tension between spiritual leaders and political figures raises critical questions about the intersection of faith and politics in the region.
