In a heated political landscape, former minister Perni Nani has sharply criticized the actions of coalition leaders, accusing them of spreading falsehoods against Chief Minister Y.S. Jagan Mohan Reddy. This comment came in response to remarks made by CM Chandrababu Naidu during a public meeting in Rayavaram, where he attempted to distribute passbooks to farmers. However, the event ended in disappointment as farmers reported that they did not receive the promised passbooks.
Perni Nani’s scathing remarks targeted the coalition’s strategy of maligning Jagan, stating that they are fixated on poisoning public perception with baseless allegations. He mocked Chandrababu’s attempts to create a spectacle in Rayavaram, questioning the effectiveness of his claims. “What ultimately happened? A failure,” Nani asserted, emphasizing that farmers directly confronted the Chief Minister about the unfulfilled promises.
The former minister continued his critique by highlighting the disconnection between Chandrababu’s statements and the reality faced by farmers. He pointedly noted that the coalition leaders, including Chandrababu, Lokesh, and Pawan, are fabricating stories to undermine Jagan, which is why the public is losing faith in them. “Chandrababu is speaking with a heavy heart. He introduced new regulations in 2018 that burdened farmers, causing them significant distress,” Nani remarked.
Moreover, Nani expressed his willingness to engage in discussions with Chandrababu regarding the issues faced by farmers, indicating that there are unresolved matters from Chandrababu’s tenure that need addressing. He highlighted the rampant irregularities in land records during Chandrababu’s governance and questioned the credibility of his statements, suggesting that even the Chief Minister lacks faith in his own words.
Additionally, Nani raised questions about internal conflicts within Chandrababu’s family, hinting at deeper issues that may affect his political standing. He called for accountability regarding the acquisition of NTR lands in Nimmakuru and criticized the coalition for failing to acknowledge the significant land survey conducted by Y.S. Jagan’s administration, which has been a historic achievement for the state.
Nani further asserted that over 3.1 million people received housing titles under Jagan’s leadership, a program that the coalition government is now continuing. He pointed out that the QR code system introduced for passbooks was a brainchild of Jagan, and questioned what changes the coalition has implemented since taking over.
He also criticized the coalition leaders for their alleged corruption during the passbook printing process, implying that they are benefiting financially while failing to deliver on their promises. “What has the triple-engine government brought to the state? All we see are debts piling up and no tangible benefits,” Nani quipped, suggesting that the coalition’s claims of record-level borrowing were misguided celebrations.
As the political discourse heats up, it remains to be seen how these accusations will impact the coalition’s standing with the electorate and whether they can effectively address the growing concerns of the farming community in Andhra Pradesh.
